American Apparel

Graphic Design & Environmental Graphics

Founded in 1989, American Apparel was a vertically integrated fashion company that ranked as one of the largest apparel manufacturers and marketers in North America. Debuting their first brick and mortar stores in the early 2000’s with the aspiration of creating spaces where art, commerce, and community would gather, the stores outfitted with provocative and unvarnished graphics quickly became an international sensation.

As part of the in-house design team based at the Los Angeles HQ (2004-2005), I designed catalogs, brochures, store signage & graphics, collaborated with the architecture team to develop store planning & merchandising, as well as designed several billboards, vehicles, and trade show booths with integrated multimedia components.

Within two-years, I helped open 100+ stores worldwide, designing and coordinating the production and installation of the brand’s signature provocative graphics program, as well as designed booth & graphics for the WWD Magic & Pool trade shows (Las Vegas) twice a year.
