ROW DTLA

Environmental Graphics & Wayfinding System

A historic urban commercial district located in Downtown Los Angeles, at the confluence of Fashion District, Skid Row, and the Arts District. The 30-acre (12 ha) district repurposed a historic complex. ROW DTLA is a mixed use development, including 100 retail stores, restaurants, and 1,300,000 sf of commercial workspace.

The identity and wayfinding of this multifaceted retail and office destination, was purposely designed with a light touch that highlights the area’s authentic industrial details and gives an authentic posture to brand.Rather than develop a standard commercial wayfinding system, a collection of environmental graphics is carefully integrated to respect the history of the place, using industrial elements, art, and signage to create memorable moments and wayfinding throughout the multi-use development.
